A Certificate of Calibration can be purchased for all Intercomp scales and tension links. When purchasing, please specify product you wish to have Certificate of Calibration for.
Calibration is done by Intercomp using high-precision, fully automated force calibration systems with capacities to 50 tons and tension calibration systems with capacities to 250 tons. Scales and systems are calibrated with standards traceable to U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST). Intercomp also maintains an inventory of over 20,000 pounds in dead weights used for testing and calibration which are certified by the MN Department of Weights & Measures.
Calibration and repair facilities are regularly audited as part of our ISO 9001:2015 Certification.
Intercomp recommends all scales, including wheel scales, axle scales, hanging scales, crane scales and tension links, undergo a recalibration procedure every 12 months. Included in this are Intercomp WIM (Weigh-in-Motion) scale systems.
Scales purchased with an NTEP Certification are recommended to have yearly recalibration and recertification, dependent on use, to retain certification status. Recertification intervals for particular products may differ and can depend on application.
